Still Deciding... Emmanuelle Alt Replaces Carine as EIC of French Vogue

The news is out! Conde Nast has decided to promote current fashion director, Emmanuelle Alt to Editor in Chief of French Vogue. A fan of Alt's work- after all she was behind much of what's been seen from the chic magazine since 2000, I am definitely not loathing this choice. However, I was secretly hoping for some sort of scandal... Anna Dello Russo leaving Japanese Vogue for instance, but I suppose this logical choice is probably the best. Alt in a lot of ways doesn't look the part yet- wearing a lot of moto-jackets and rock-star-chic looks that hardly channel Anna Wintour's severe bob and lady-like ensembles. That said, I too prefer trousers to skirts, and would more happily wear a leopard coat than a boxy tweed cropped jacket. Could it be that Emmanuelle is representative of the new generation of Editors in Chief- an Editor in Chief with an edge perhaps? Stay tuned...
