Like... Taylor Tomasi Hill's Edgy Chic Style

Taylor Tomasi Hill, the style and accessories director for Marie Claire, has been showing up a lot these days and become a favorite for street style bloggers on account of her unique and punchy style sense. Hill's outfits are always made up of unexpected pieces, color combinations and proportions that somehow avoid seeming costume-y or overwrought. Her bright crimson hair and cat-eye sunglasses are becoming a bit of a trademark... could this be an Anna Wintour in the making?
Love this mix...

An unexpected, and somehow appropriate shoe choice...

Keeping it pretty and basic...

I love this combination AND the Prada shoes!

One of my all time favorites- I love the soft pink bag with the edgier ensemble...

Always on trend with a lace maxi skirt...

So tough- she's channelling Lisbeth Salander from The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo- minus the Chanel bag of course...

Soft and feminine without any frills...

So simple, but accessorized like a pro, naturally- look at that bag and necklace AND those bracelets!

Loathe... Vanessa Hudgens Trying Her Hand at High Fashion

Marc Jacobs done wrong. Marc Jacobs done right.

Ok. Be forewarned, this is not my shiniest moment, but some loathing- even the irrational must be expunged. Therefore, my loathsome feelings for one Vanessa Hudgens' attempt at infiltrating high fashion will henceforth be shared. The actress is obviously trying to shed her bubble-gum and let's face it- tacky image for one of a fashion-fluent actress. Everything from her appearance at fashion week to her latest movie Beastly and even that small spread in Vogue where she channeled Bianca Jagger indicate this; however, right when I was about to give Vanessa Hudgens the benefit of the doubt, as she has always seemed a very nice girl, she committed some serious infractions. During her shoot with Vogue the actress described one her seventies inspired looks as "classy"- rule of thumb: if you have class, you don't use this word. Next the young actress was seen wearing part of a Marc Jacobs look (that she'd worn on set!) all wrong- and we mean all wrong. The long seventies style satin blazer looked mod and refined when worn as a suit on the pages of Vogue, but Vanessa forgot the pants and did all but improve her fashion station.

Looking quite intriguing for her Vogue spread...

oh no....

let out the bubble hem two inches and I'm a fan...

this I don't hate...

no.

It's just so 8th Grade Formal...

trying. too. hard.
